You have had a few, your friends have had many and I have them all the time. Coincidences sometimes happen too often to be regarded as coincidence. Too often, we experience the process of thinking about someone and then they call, or we talk about someone and then receive an email from them. I have these ‘so-called’ coincidences all the time. Some are truly bizarre and spooky.
One can really have two attitudes to these incidents: one can write them to the coincidence file and think no more of them or one can assume that they are too ‘coincidental’ and regard them as guiding messages. When I have strong coincidences, I try have the perspective of someone trying to communicate something to me in an extra-ordinary manner. I try to understand what the message might be. Sometimes I think I understand and sometimes I don’t. But, when I think I do understand the message, I pursue it wholeheartedly. And ten times out of ten it results in something wonderful.
Reading feedback - in whatever form - is vital to the survival and prosperity of the entrepreneur. Being sensitive to the lightest of feedback from the universe, in the form of coincidence, trains us to be sensitive to the feedback of our clients, our staff, our colleagues and our partners. They are all here to grow our dreams. Their feedback (sometimes guised as criticism) is a gift that allows us to become better at what we do and more relevant in the lives of all our stakeholders.
Open yourself up. Listen carefully. Lose some of your crusty ego. Allow yourself and your business to grow. |
